Britta Heidemann, Ambassador of the Year
Britta Heidemann, Goodwill Ambassador of the EU-China Year of Youth, Olympic Champion, World Champion, European Champion in Epee Fencing.
Britta has a long history with China as she went to School in Beijing at the age of 15 and has been to China over 20 times since.
After her university degree last year in Chinese regional studies with the major of ecological sustainability, she now accompanies political and business delegation to China as a cultural, sports and economic ambassador.
As for the social engagement in the fields of youth Britta has so far been involved in projects for mentally disabled children and for Youth environmental campaigns in China. In Germany, Britta is an ambassador for the social campaign "Kinderträume 2011" of the German Football Federation
"Sich schon in jungen Jahren miteinander auseinanderzusetzen und sich kennenzulernen hilft dabei, früh ein gegenseitiges Verständnis für verschiedene Blickwinkel und Kulturen aufzubringen und macht vieles einfacher im späteren geschäftlichen Miteinander in unserer globalen Welt. Der Sport ist eines der beste Mittel, dieses Miteinander der Jugendlichen zu erreichen."

By this, business contacts will be easier later on in our globalized world". Sports is one way of connecting young people easily and is one of the best means to reach that goal. "
